Fishing Line to Reel
Attaching line to reel is something all fishermen simply can’t avoid. Fishermen usually want the knot to hold firm and not slip. They also don’t want any bulk in the knot.  Knots like the arbor knot was developed by fly fishermen to attach line to reel, however, their line is totally different from the monofilament fishing lines the average fishermen would use. Andy’s favorite is the Half Blood knot on spinning type reels and he uses a doubled wrap around the spool then tied with a Centauri knot on overhead reels.
However, all the fishing line to reel knots illustrated here are suitable for most situations and work equally as well both saltwater fishing and freshwater fishing situations.

The Centauri Knot is a knot every fisherman should make an effort to learn. The Centauri knots versatility and functionality makes it one of the most useful fishing knots you are likely to encounter.
The Half Blood Knot is one of the simplest knots, however, it should be used with caution as it can slip.
